Hi everyone! My name is Amber Campbell, and I am the Volleyball Director for Sherrills Ford Optimist. I have lived in Catawba County my entire life. I love all things nature, listening to music, and hanging out with my boyfriend and friends. I started playing volleyball with Sally’s YMCA when I was a freshman in high school. I went through a pretty devastating loss and needed something to channel my grief when my boyfriend suggested volleyball. I believe the sport, my coaches, and the friends I made truly saved me. When I played volleyball, we actually used to play against the SFO volleyball teams. I fell in love with the sport and I knew when I graduated in 2019 that I still wanted to be involved with the volleyball program. Shortly after I graduated, COVID hit and Sally’s YMCA shut down their volleyball program. The SFO Volleyball community welcomed me with open arms. After a couple seasons of coaching at the JV and Varsity levels, the previous Volleyball Director asked me to take over. It has been so rewarding and I’m so blessed to be a part of this amazing community. Volleyball is where I feel I have found my purpose.I not only have a passion for the game, but a passion for the kids. You never truly know what these girls are going through, and I want them to know that I am here for them no matter what. I love watching the girls grow in the game, but also grow into great people in life.I have made life-long friendships by being involved in the SFO Volleyball program. I am looking forward to the start of our 2026 Spring Season! If you see me inside or outside the gym, please don’t hesitate to say hello! I love the community feel around Sherrills Ford and hope to connect more with all of you!
