12U All-Stars


Congratulations to our Trojans 12U All-Star team who placed 2nd in the Braves Country/Chris Sale All-Star Tournament played in Weddington, NC this past weekend! This All-Star team was made up of players and coaches from Sherrills Ford Optimist and Balls Creek Optimist.

Baseball

Baseball is open to boys ages seven to twelve in these age divisions:


  • 8U (ages 7 and 8)
  • 10U (ages 9 and 10)
  • 12U (ages 11 and 12)

Spring 2026 Evaluations


Our evaluations will be held Saturday, March 7 at Sherrills Ford Optimist Park.


  • 10:00am: 10U evaluations
  • 1:00pm: 8U evaluations
  • 1:00pm: evaluations for tee-ball-aged players wishing to play 8U baseball


There is only one team for 12U, so no evaluations are necessary.

Baseball Information

Description Title

Rookie League Coach Pitch or 8U Baseball is for players 7 and 8-years old as of 5/1 of the current year. In other words, the age they are on 5/1 is their playing age for the season. 

8U Rules

Description Title

Minor League Kid Pitch or 10U Baseball is for players 9 and 10-years old as of 5/1 of the current year. In other words, the age they are on 5/1 is their playing age for the season. 

10U Rules

Description Title

Major League Kid Pitch or 10U Baseball is for players 11 and 12-years old as of 5/1 of the current year. In other words, the age they are on 5/1 is their playing age for the season.
